WOW! The 2013 Motoscape Rally draws to end, and what a success it was! It’s been an amazing journey for all the teams who took part, and amazingly the majority of the cars, by hook or by crook, made it to the end. What a fantastic achievement, well done to everyone who took part!!
We had a great bunch of people from all over the UK and from all walks of life. There were builders, mechanics, teachers and scientists to name but a few and everyone enjoyed an action packed week.
After what can only be described as an extraordinary week, the last day of the 2013 Motoscape Rally had arrived, and it was time for the teams to head to Prague! First of all though, teams had to get up bright and early for the final morning briefing and collect the daily packs (the last time teams heard the famous words, “Please Read Your Pack!”). As this was the last day of the rally, there were no challenges other than make it to Prague in one piece, which is easier said than done on some of the roads in the Czech Republic!
That’s it, the 2013 Motoscape Rally, “Road Trip to Prague” has come to an end! And I’m sure you all want to know who’s won?
Well we won’t keep you waiting, congratulations… on a first place finish for A Bear Attacking You With Only A Sausage Is Still Terrifying! They won the rally by 7 points and take home the £800 prize and the gloating rights at being the 2013 Motoscape Prague Champions! Martyn and Tony also won 2 daily prizes on the rally making their total prize winnings £900! Congratulations guys, a fantastic effort guys, well done!
After a night of celebrations, it was time for everyone heading onto Prague to say farewell to their newfound friends on the Venice rally. For the Prague teams the scenery and roads change significantly as we head into Eastern Europe. There were some blurry-eyed faces at the morning briefing (especially the Horsemeat Smugglers team!), but everyone attended eager to see what the day had in store! With just a couple of days left on the rally, some cars were starting to show the strain a bit, but everyone was in high spirits for today’s journey.
The morning after the Stelvio Pass usually see’s teams doing essential repairs in the car park, but surprisingly this year, the cars that made it to the hotel were in decent working order! The teams gathered as usual for the morning briefing and to check out the days challenges, Todays drive was a relatively short distance so lots of different options on places to visit.
That’s it, the 2013 Motoscape Rally, “Road Trip to Venice” has come to an end! And I’m sure you all want to know who’s won?
Well we won’t keep you waiting, congratulations… on a first place finish for 3 Engineers and a Civil Servant! They won the rally by 15 points and take home the £800 prize and the gloating rights at being the 2013 Motoscape Venice Champions! So far the team have raised around £4000 for the National Autistic Society Charity and the prize money from winning the rally is going towards that too. Congratulations to Jonathan, Harry, Dave and David, a fantastic effort guys, well done!
