That’s it, the 2014 Motoscape Rally, “Road Trip to Prague” has come to an end! And I’m sure you all want to know who’s won?
Well we won’t keep you waiting, congratulations… on a first place finish for Torquay Fore! They won the rally by 7 points with a total points haul of 96 and take home the £800 prize and the gloating rights at being the 2014 Motoscape Prague Champions! Tyrone, Spencer, Jamie and Dave came joint 1st on the first daily prize and have been in the hunt for the grand prize ever since. It was down to winning the final day of challenges that won them the rally, making their total prize winnings £875!
After a night of typical Motoscape style celebrations, it was now time for the remaining teams continuing onto Prague to bid farewell to their newfound rally friends who took part in the Venice rally. Some teams had celebrated a little bit too much and making the morning briefing was a tough ask, but with one day of challenges remaining and the title of Motoscape Champions still to play for, everyone was eager to see what the day had in store. The Tommy Tankers continued to entertain with a new fancy dress outfit each day!
Today we were travelling from Venice to Sopron in Hungary, which is approximately 345 miles, but today’s route does give teams the chance to take on another amazing pass, by driving through the Triglav national park in Slovenia, tackling the amazing Vršič Pass.
The morning after the mountain passes, the teams usually give their cars some much needed TLC. All the teams were in high spirits and most of the cars that made it to the hotel were in decent working order! After the morning briefing teams taking part in the challenges prepared for another competitive day. Today’s drive was a relatively short distance so teams had lots of different options on places to visit.

Well we won’t keep you waiting, congratulations… on a first place finish for Minter Munter! They won the rally by 14 points and take home the £800 prize and the gloating rights at being the 2014 Motoscape Venice Champions! James, Ben and David took part in the rally to celebrate Jame’s stag do, and this has certainly made it a stag do to remember! Congratulations guys, a fantastic effort, well done!
Day 4 of the Motoscape Rally is always one of the most anticipated, it’s “Mega Pass Day”! This year we improved the route so that it enabled teams to either take on the Stelvio Pass or the Timmelsjoch Pass. Today’s mileage was either a minimum of 160 miles or a maximum of 225 miles depending on which route was taken, but most teams decided to take on at least one pass to really put their cars to the test! Following the morning briefing, the teams prepared their cars, checking the essentials such as, oil water and brakes and those with greater mechanical issues were just keeping their fingers crossed and hoping for the best.
It’s now a common occurrence on the Motoscape Rally, the morning after the wine festival can be a tough one for the teams to get out of bed and attend the briefing! However everyone was there at 7.45am sharp, keen to see what we had in store en-route!
Today the teams were driving from Koblenz to Garmisch Partenkirchen, via Austria. The drive is approximately 340 miles, which is one of the longer drives on the rally, but it gives teams plenty of chances to visit some amazing places en-route. The longer drive also ensures the next few days will be shorter, meaning more time for exploring even more of Europe!
