Day 1 – Saturday 23rd June
Start Location: Troyes, France (Champagne Region)
Approx. Drive: 3.5 hours from Calais/Dunkirk | 246 miles
Arrive in the beautiful town of Troyes, nestled in France’s famous Champagne region. Before arriving, consider stopping at the historic Circuit de Gueux near Reims or visiting one of Épernay’s world-renowned champagne houses.
From 12 noon onwards, Team Motoscape will be on hand to greet you and guide you through the week ahead. Today’s focus is all about getting to know your fellow ralliers, checking out the quirky car builds and costumes, and enjoying traditional French food and a few “frothy bevvies” at the town’s many lively bars and brasseries.
Troyes is the ideal launchpad for the adventure ahead, setting a comfortable pace for daily drives – allowing plenty of time for exploration.
Day 2 – Sunday 24th June
Troyes to Bern, Switzerland
Wake up, shake off the night before, and get ready to hit the road to Bern, Switzerland’s historic and picturesque capital.
Today’s route leads you through the verdant Vosges Mountains – smooth, sweeping roads ideal for relaxed driving and epic views. Suggested stops include the charming towns of Épinal and Gérardmer, followed by the stunning drive over Col de la Schlucht with photo stops at Belle Roche and Roche du Diable.
Next, enter Alsace, a region known for its half-timbered houses, wines, and quaint towns like Colmar, where you can explore Petite Venice or relax in the main square.
Alternatively, visit Mulhouse for the incredible Musée National de l’Automobile – home to the largest private car collection in the world – or stop by the Cité du Train, the world’s 10th largest railway museum.
End the day in Bern, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with medieval arcades, sandstone buildings, and vibrant charm. Meet up in the evening for drinks, team bonding, and stories from the road – but don’t stay out too late… tomorrow is Pass Day.
Day 3 – Monday 25th June
Today is the crown jewel of the rally – the Alpine Pass Day – featuring Switzerland’s most exhilarating mountain drives.
Kick things off with a detour to Thun to visit its historic wooden footbridge or continue to Interlaken via the scenic Seestrasse. For panoramic views, hop aboard the Harder Kulm funicular and take in the sweeping Alpine vistas. Craving chocolate? Make a cheeky stop at the Funky Chocolate Club
Then it’s time for the legendary Passes – Grimsel, Furka, and Gotthard. Cruise along the same roads featured in James Bond: Goldfinger, stop at the iconic Belvedere Hotel, or take lunch at Piz Gloria, the rotating mountaintop restaurant from On Her Majesty’s Secret Service.
Optional: Brave a stop at Verzasca Dam, the 220-meter-high site of the GoldenEye bungee jump!
Wrap up in Lake Como, Italy’s glamourous lake town. Enjoy a lakeside dinner and wind down with drinks and stories under the stars.
Day 4 – Tuesday 26th June
Como to Imperia, via Turin or Liguria Coast
Start the day with a relaxed morning around Lake Como. Explore Bellagio, rent a boat, or visit Tremezzo and Lecco for scenic strolls and a taste of luxury.
Then head to Turin, one of Italy’s coolest, most underrated cities. Food lovers will rejoice, while motoring fans can visit the Museo Nazionale dell’Automobile. For football fans, the Juventus Stadium awaits, while cinephiles can spot locations from The Italian Job (1969).
Or, skip Turin and head straight to the Ligurian Coast. Options include:
- Varazze – A surfer’s paradise, with one of the best beaches in the region
- Noli – UNESCO listed medieval seaside town with a hilltop castle offering panoramic views
- Alassio – A beach town with chic shops and the famous Muretto di Alassio a wall covered in titles signed by famous artists and celebs or kick back at the beach.
Tonight, we stay in Imperia, where a local festival culminates.
Day 5 – Wednesday 27th June
Imperia to Avignon, France
Choose your own adventure en route to Avignon
The journey to Avignon can be made a number of ways. Cruise the coastal route stopping at various
towns on the Italian Riviera including Sanremo or Menton. Check out Escaliers in Menton, a yellow
building which is one of the most photographed stairs, with some great views and local charm.
Your road trip is not complete without a visit to the glitz and glamour of Monaco. From Casino
Square, Hairpin at Fairmount, stroll around the Marina or drive the F1 Track. Not to mention
supercar and celeb spotting.
Else you can head straight to the Cote d’ Azur, lights, camera action at the film world in Cannes and a
stop in Saint Tropez to seek out the yachts and a cheeky lunch stop. There are plenty of options to
choose from.
After a more scenic drive? Verdon Gorge is one you won’t want to miss. It’s one of Europe’s most
beautiful river canyons, with an unmissable turquoise river that flows along its 15.5 miles.
We end the day in Avignon, a city rich in history, culture and architecture, where we’ll meet and
share stories from the day..
Day 6 – Thursday 28th June
With the finish line in Costa Brava, this is our final day of the road trip.
Costa Brava’s coastal landscape is simply stunning. From sweeping bays and rugged, steep cliffs, to protected marshes and sand dunes – you’ll be in awe of all of the views. Head inland and you’ll be treated to a visual feast of quaint white-washed villages strewn in dashing bougainvillea. And don’t forget those verdant foothills of the Pyrenees
There are still places to stop off at and enjoy before the beach finish. Nimes is only 1hr from Avignon dubbed the French Rome, due to its well-preserved Roman-inspired architecture and the Arenes de Nimes inspired by the Colosseum in Rome. En route Pont du Gard is a worthwhile stop where you’ll find the highest aqueduct bridge that still stands. your bucket list.
Sete is about 1.4 hours from Avignon and is known as Venice of Languedoc, it offers a combination of vibrant ports beautiful canals, a rich cultural scene and nautical history, not forgetting a 12km stretch of golden sandy beach.
Narbonne also makes for a great pitstop, you can find the first road built in France to Spain. The original road can be seen in the centre of town.
